Welcome to my Blog

"The focus of my blog is to translate current trends into realistic design ideas, covering the full spectrum of interior decoration. I will also share key projects and the techniques behind making hand-finished soft-furnishings."

I’m feeling rather guilty about having neglected my February blog, but it’s because I have been so busy making samples and a mountain of glorious cushions, for a very special event being held at Strawberry Hill House, South-West London, on March 10th and 11th. ‘The Creative Home & Garden Festival’, is being organised by the ‘décor café’ , which is an amazing collaborative network of 40 independent designers, artists and makers.

Looking for inspiration for my first post, I don't need to look very far. It may be a cold January day in London, but from my window I am looking at a light-filled pale blue sky, punctuated by slices of delicate pink cloud; precisely the colours that Pantone announced as its 2016 'Color of the Year' - Serenity and Rose Quartz
When Pantone announced these colours, I must admit I struggled to see how these would be applied in real homes, outside of the nursery. But after spending more time with them and looking at how well they work with other contemporary colours, I am becoming seduced.
If you want to see how to capture these colours in paint, fabric or wallpaper, or just want to refresh your home with dreamy rose pink and serene powder blue accessories,  Click Here
